Earlier this fall there were a lot of hype around a new e-book by Chris McNeeney called "Affiliate Project X". Maybe you have heard of it? If not you have most likely been living in a basement for the last months, or you are new to affiliate marketing. In either case, I will give you my honest opinion on this e-book in this review.

Chris (the author) is a mastermind when it comes to affiliate marketing and one of those so-called “gurus” that I have followed for a few years now. So far, none of his products has let me down. But is this book living up to the hype or is it just another over hyped, over priced junk product?

What was not so good about this book?

Some of the information was also contained in Adwords Miracle, which is a product I really found to be a decent e-book for affiliate marketers.

It looks like some of the techniques promoted can be a violation to the ClickBank terms of service. I am not 100% sure about that, though, and I do not really think ClickBank would bother much with it either.

The book outlines a way of cloaking affiliate links that has a few drawbacks. The code has been known not to work in placing cookies on people's computers, meaning the marketer will be losing the commission. The problem of affiliate cloaking has been notified and as far as I know, it has been fixed in the latest edition.

I have also seen people complain about this being old information one can find on the internet for free etc, but I do not fully agree to that. I can agree to that some of it is old news, but after all most info can be found for free if you seek well enough, right?

So... Is it any good, then...?

So does it really matter if some of the information is old news for the seasoned marketer? NO! Does the tips and tricks explained in Affiliate Project X work? YES, they do, they have done so for ages and they will continue to work for years and years to come. Sure, some of the players will change, and small changes will apply but the basics of what is thought in this e-book will continue to work for ages to come. Not only will it help the seasoned marketer, but this book is a really great tool for newbies as well. These are all tried and true techniques that have made my life much easier, that is for sure.

I have wasted a lot of money on way too many products teaching one “how to make money” technique after another, and most of them have been plain rubbish. Affiliate Project X is a diamond in the dust, if you ask me, and it is worth every penny.

It claims on the sales page that you can make thousands of dollars a day following the guidelines of this e-book. While that is not impossible, it may give some people false hopes. New internet marketers should rather aim at making 20 bucks a day and then increase their profit over time. I am currently making 50-100 dollars a day, every day of the month, by following the teachings of this book. That is 2-3000 USD a month, folks! This book has its drawbacks, as outlined above, but the pros of this book beat the cons, without doubt, as the techniques are so time-tested and powerful.

It is all up to you whether you whish to check Affiliate Project X out further or not, and if you are among those who always want to know the “hottest” ways to earn money, maybe you won’t. If you are anything like me, however, and do not want to re-invent the wheel when there already are perfect and time-tested methods that are proven to bring in autopilot income over and over again, then you should definitively check out Affiliate Project X!

So, to check out whether or not my friend was telling the truth or just trying to sell me a 97 dollar product for some quick cash, I went over to his house for coffee.

My surprise was big when he could actually show me the stats from ClickBank proving an incredible increase in sales the last few weeks, after implementing the strategies he had learned from the AdWords Miracle course. I went home but could not fall asleep. There was something bothering me… If my friend, who was a rather inexperienced online marketer, could increase his sales this much, how much more money could I earn if I followed this book?

I went out of bed, grabbed a coffee and turned on the computer. Five minutes or so later I was reading through the AdWords Miracle book. By 6:30 I had managed to go through over 100 pages and I was really eager for more. The book is about 200 pages and comes with almost an hour of training videos so I had to get some sleep before I could continue...

When all the information from the book started to sink in I felt really pleasantly surprised.

After countless new editions the book is now counting almost 100 more pages than the original and this book will actually show you how to go from broke to being the best paid man or woman in your neighbourhood. The author of this book doesn't claim to be a superstar "guru" or anything. He just deliver, right in your face, information and methods that are exactly the same he used him self to go from broke to getting paid several hundreds dollars a day.

I think there are some pages of this book that could have been removed and that only looks like fillers more or less, but the rest is brilliant.

...And it is also all backed up by alot of proof.

This book will guide you all the way from the initial set up of your first adwords account to all the small smart tricks that makes the differece in affiliate marketing.

I've read a lot of books on Adwords, some free ones and some paid ones, but I've always felt that something was missing. This book filled up most of the "holes", maybe all of them actually, and as I progressed through the book I started to feel that my knowledge on pay-per-click advertising actually improved.

This book covers all the major issues such as daily budget,keyword lists, ad writing and inactive keywords. These are issues that are too often ignored by other Adwords book authors. Another great thing about this book is that AdWords Miracle is designed to work on Google Adwords so testing the claims is very easy. If you don't believe what is in the book, or have your doubts, just test it!

AdWords Miracle is full of real life examples which makes it even more interesting. If these people can make it in online affiliate marketing, so can you! They all started out small and many of them are now big timers generating thousands of dollars a day from adwords. Chris takes you by the hand a show you step by step how to use the different techniques but it doesn't stop there. He also actually tells you WHEN to use the different techniques. In other words: When The Timing Is Right! This is not something I can recall having read in any other Adwords course or e-book, and I've gone through most of them.

One of the greatest parts of the book is what the author refer to as the "Skimming Method". Its one of those ideas you see and think why didn't I think of that! Actually, it seems like no other have thought of that either as I've never read about it before. It is a great idea that actually can take you from ZERO to 300 usd a day just by following some simple steps. I believe that this part, which is about 10 pages or so, actually could be sold a seperate book it self. That's how good it is!

Affiliate programs are a great way to earn a very good living from the web, but if you want to earn as much as you can then you need to know all of the best tricks to maximize your sales. How to Avoid Newbie Mistakes!

I think the biggest "mistake" newbies make is focusing on far too many things at once. Most people try to make a living online, when really they should focus on just one thing at the time. Start with ONE project, fine tune it, get it making some money and then once you have figured out how to make money in that niche, and are making money on a steady basis - you simply do the same things over again to start adding an additional revenue stream from another niche.

Of course you will have to make some changes to fine tune your efforts from time to time. Your second project should be a niche that is completely different from the first one. The basics will be the same... traffic generation, conversion, etc. but try to just focus on that ONE thing, figure it out, master it, get it to make some money to a level where you're satisfied, then start all over again in another niche. That is what Internet Marketing is all about – MOMENTUM! You need to push and push until you got that wheel running. When it is running good then change to the next wheel (could be a different marketing effort for instance) and keep on pushing until you achieve the desired results. Then you’ll have to repeat the tasks that bring you money over and over again and get rid of the ones that don’t produce CASH!

Far too often I see people running from project to project before they make any money, hoping that the next project will yield better results than the last. While this can be true (You do have to throw in the towel sometimes) - the important thing is to fine tune what you're doing with ONE Project, then move on to the next and do it all over again. The basics, as I mentioned earlier - are the same for all types of products / niches / etc...

I have a good number of websites and while not all are earning me any money (some are what I call sleepy sites that I will focus on later when I have time to spare) the ones I DO focus on are all bringing me in money month after month. Some very well, some not so well. But I never "launch" a new venture until the one that I am working on is giving me the return that I feel it should. Sometimes I even launch 2 or 3 sites in the same niche, so that I compete with myself (better that I compete and get the sale on one of 3 or 4 sites - then give it to a competitor) but I still stick with this formula, it works for me anyway and it works for many other Internet Marketers - very successfully!

It's also important not to have unrealistic expectations. Sometimes when I launch a site, it takes 2-3-4, even 6 months before it starts to bring in what I consider an acceptable amount of revenue. But I don't stray from that site. I work to bring the traffic, build a loyal customer base, etc. until I reach what I believe to be a realistic income from that site.

And I can not stress this enough - BUILD A LIST! Make a compelling offer that entices people to sign up for your newsletter. If you haven't got a sequence of autoresponders enticing your customers - DON'T WORRY! Write a quick email thanking them for joining your newsletter and promise them offers they can't get anywhere else (and deliver on the promise of course) - but don't let your lack of 10 or 20 pre-written messages stop you from building your list. Having this list will mean that you can promote your offer to them over and over again.

Don’t underestimate the power of a good list!

These are just a few examples, there are plenty more. Any product or service which is provided on a lease or rental agreement has the potential to provide you with residual income. Ideally, your customer will automatically renew each week/month without any requirement for action (effort) by either your or your customer.

There may also be some scope for residual income with disposable or consumable products. In this case, the mechanics of the reorder process have a critical bearing upon your earning capabilities. For true residual income, the reorder process should be automatic as described above. This is not simply a matter of semantics or a pedantic definition. There are several reasons why you should target genuine residual income.

Many people who set up their own small home business do so with the express intent of eventually replacing their salary. Due to the regular nature of the payments, residual income is ideal for this. In fact, it’s considerably better than having a salary as you continue to get paid for work that was done in the past.

With genuine residual income, the automated reorder process means that you don’t have to spend time servicing and supporting your existing customers. You can focus your energies on finding new customers and/or recruiting new distributors/affiliates, thereby continually growing your business at the fastest possible rate.

If your customer needs to take some action to reorder then, even with a consumable product that needs to be replenished periodically, there is a “break point” in the process. The customer may decide to economise and do without the product that month, they may decide to use one of your (many) competitors or they might just simply forget to order.

With an automated reorder system on the other hand, your customer needs to make a positive effort not to reorder. It’s a well known fact that customers who pay for products and services by subscription are much more loyal and less likely to cancel. Even if they do decide to opt out they tend to delay this for longer than they would otherwise.

Think about it for a moment. Have you ever kept a subscription running for longer than you intended, or do you know someone else who has? Perhaps you might even have some small but regular subscription running right now that you’ve completely forgotten about.

That, of course, is the reason why many companies will give you a reduction in the standard rate if you set up a subscription agreement. Reader’s digest know the value of this. So do telephone companies, electricity companies, internet service providers and software providers around the world. Now you know about it too – take advantage if you possibly can.

Finally – and let’s not kid ourselves here – many people don’t like selling. There are ways round this and it’s possible to minimise the discomfort some people feel – but it’s still there at some level for many of us.

Picture the scene. You’ve just made a sale, you feel great and you’re already thinking about how you’re going to spend you hard earned money. Then it hits you – you’ve got to do it all again this afternoon, tomorrow, next week. Takes the gloss off a bit – right?

Now think about a slightly different scenario. You’ve just made a sale. Your new customer has signed a repeat subscription agreement and you are going to benefit for months, if not years to come. Is that a better home movie? I think it is.

There are other benefits of residual income but, for the sake of brevity, I hope that those already discussed above provide sufficient compulsion for you to actively seek out at least one residual income stream.

To summarise, genuine residual income will help you maximise the returns on your efforts and build a solid, reliable and predictable income from your home business. You need it.
